Ive been living in Boston for a year and absolutely hate it here. Moderator cut: see note rude a-holes, crappy food, etc. Ive been thinking of moving to LA because there is a lot of mexicans, but among other things I need a city with vibrant nightlife, plenty of single girls(preferably hispanic), good tech sector(im an electrical engineer), and NICE friendly people. I dont know how much longer i can live in this Moderator cut: see note hole.

As someone who moved from Boston to LA I say yes, at least based on your criteria. Lots of Hispanic girls and people are generally nicer here. But the tech sector is not quite as good here, at least as far as I know.

Los Angeles is almost never the answer. Los Angeles is just a new source of different problems.

But sometimes, starting over in someplace new is the answer. And if you want to start over, LA's as good a place as any, especially since you'll find a lot of people here that are starting over that you can bond with.

For the tech sector, there are some options in OC--Broadcom, D-Link, Kingston, etc.. There's also Qualcomm in San Diego. You should check out indeed.com and do a search for "electrical engineer" and see what pops up within 50 miles of LA.

Go to San Francisco. They have a better tech sector and there are millions of hispanics at your disposal over there just like in LA.

Moderator cut: orphaned

Well, so many areas for discussion here! First off, I've not lived in Boston only heard that it's not the most inclusive community, but you are not exactly coming off as an inclusive kinda guy either.

Los Angeles is my hometown and I love it; my sons live there and they love the diversity. Needless to say there will probably be more Latinos in LA than can be found in Boston - I guessing quite a few Irish Americans as well. My son's love the ability to date and socialize with all types of folks.

But as I started off by saying, I have heard that Boston is not that accepting of non-locals and based on just a couple of folks I've had the misfortune of running into, they were two of the most intolerant and racist folks I've ever met. But I've also met folks from MA who were wonderful.

My advice is that you will probably come out ahead if you arrive with a more open mind about different types of people. California and especially SoCal is more of a "Live and Let Live kind of place, you'll get what you give off.

Good luck with your move!

Moderator cut: orphaned I once had a burrito in Boston. It was one of the worst burritos I've ever had. Great Italian food though.

LA is not the answer. LA is a question. You are the answer.

Or as they say, life is what you make of it. Happiness is a state of mind.

With that said, LA is not a bad place. Maybe one of the best places for human folks.

I Love LA!
