Default Commute from Santa Monica to Burbank

Hi all-

I am new to the LA area, and just moved to Santa Monica. I was offered a job in Burbank, and was wondering about the SaMo-Burbank commute time. I hear that the 405-101 bottleneck is pretty bad at times.

Another option is 10-110-5. You are probably looking at an hour at best. More realistically 60-90 minutes at peak time.

Two things:

1. Consider moving to near Burbank

2. Check out Sigalert.com - Personalized Traffic Reports during your expected commute times.

I second the 10-110-5 suggestion. Depending on where your job is, the 101 might get you closer to your destination than the 5. I avoid the 405 like the plague and the 101-405 interchange at all costs.

The 10 into downtown is an hour plus commute in the mornings. I don't recommend the 10 at all. Also, I-5 is loaded with trucks.

The 405 is probably your best bet but I think it's probably going to be a one to two hour commute each way. The other option would be to take surface streets (Sepulveda then Ventura Blvd. or Burbank Blvd.).

If you leave really super early (like before 5:30 a.m.) it's probably about 1/2 hour commute.
