One of them is Inglewood. For all the flack Inglewood gets for being "ghetto" and "dangerous" . It's actually a decent mostly Black suburban area, and is in a central location to LAX and Aerospace jobs and is adjacent to Culver City on La Cienega .

Based on crime statistics in the last couple of years. West Hollywood actually has a higher crime rate than Inglewood. But West Hollywood doesn't have the "ghetto" reputation that Inglewood has. And Hollywood feels more "unsafe" to me than Inglewood does.

Another underrated area is Long Beach. The locals are more down to earth than the Westside, and has about equal things to do, great restaurants, and is about equal in nightlife to Santa Monica and other areas of the Westside with less pretension.

What do you think are underrated areas of LA?

You make a good point. Look what happened to Silverlake in the last 20 years. It's a bit more expensive than it was 20 years ago.

I like Long Beach and San Pedro for coastal areas - both have some lovely areas and good restaurants and aren't anywhere near as crowded as SM.

Hawthorne: A underrated area not far from Inglewood, The houses are larger and good for family's. I think Carson is underrated too, There has been some people from OC that have bought homes there because it is more affordable.

I agree and always have thought those areas to be unsung. Until now.
