I just moved to LA, and people keep giving directions around Santa Monica beach by lifeguard station numbers. I can't find a map or anything that will show me where these are - does anyone have a resource for this, or a general guide (like which numbers are north/south of the pier, do they go in order, etc)?

Thanks!

They run in order from North to South. #8 is roughly even with Montana Ave and #26 is roughly even with Ocean Park Blvd.

I'm native to the area and I've never been given directions via life guard tower #'s.

You might try google maps street view. If the numbers are big enough, you might be able to read them on street view if the street is close enough.

Dudes, not that he needs me to defend him, but all he said was that HE was never given directions that way. Geez.
