Glad I was able to provide a few yuks with my question.

I'm a very seasoned business traveler, and normally would never ask something like this. In this case, I happen to be traveling with my family (including 2 young girls), hence the extra caution.

We visit LA from NYC regularly and have used the La Cienega route to West Hollywood from Manhattan Beach and from LAX as late as 1 AM. Just exercise the usual vigilance and be aware of the normal possibility of "eccentric" or "influenced" drivers at that hour. Otherwise, we never had an incident and even stopped for gas along the way a couple of times.

If you are staying in West Hollywood, we recommend Marco's at Havenhurst and Santa Monica. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the tip! We're staying in the same vicinity...looks like a very interesting neighborhood with great dining options.

Once you hop in your rental car, tune your radio to KNX Newsradio 1070, which offers traffic reports 'on the fives', at :05, :15 and so on after the hour around the clock.

There are major construction projects on the N/B 405 Fwy. combining the addition of an HOV lane and assorted on and off ramp rebuilding which may result in a full freeway closure overnight, including tonight (April 13

Check http://wwwisigalert.com for the latest freeway conditions.

Your route will be a very safe one as others have stated; have a great time!!!!

lapd's aware of the issue, since they're low on resources there isn't much they can do. the best advice is to keep your doors locked and be alert when stopped in traffic.

godspeed.
Too funny.

I usually just take the 405 to the 10 and then take La Cienega off the 10. It's much quicker at that time of night than dealing with all the poorly timed lights.

Absolutely agree! You can fly from LAX to W. Hollywood going 405-10 route. It is mostly guaranteed success. You could also go up Robertson from the 10, but there is construction going on there. I'd imagine at night it should be quiet and open and Robertson is faster than La Cienega. Robertson to Santa Monica and over. Right in the heart of the gayborhood with places to stop for a drink on the way to the hotel (The Abbey!).

Thanks!
Is this your first time leaving the farm or something?

I can't believe someone seriously asked this question.
