We'll be headed to small claims court next week and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how we can pay the judgement. We're not contesting the amount of 1500$, just the fact that he wanted it all at once. What kind of options do we have in general once the judgement is entered? I know we have 30 days to appeal, and I know he can decline a payment plan, so my question is what then? What if he declines our request to make payments? Anyone know, what are some other options? We're actually located near Fresno.

Before court you will meet a paralegal arbitrator who will attempt to work out your case there without taking up the valuable judge's and court's time. Tell 'em you don't contest the case but wish to work out a payment plan. If that doesn't work tell the judge the same thing.

If nothing else works out, just pay them as much as you can as often as you can. In my experience small claims court judgements must be paid in 30 days. What are they going to do if you don't? File another small claims court case?
