I was cleaning out my closet and found an old catalog from West LA College for the fall 2009 semester. It was $20 a unit then. Now it's $261 a unit! I know it's been six years but I thought most of the tuition increases only affected the UC schools. Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

Units at California Community Colleges are $46 Dollars each. It's much higher for out of state students. But it is not $261 per unit for instate students.

When I attended L.A. Harbor College back in the late 90's through early 2000's tuition was around $12 dollars a unit. Back then people looked down at junior colleges now they embrace them. $261 a unit now, that doesn't sound right.

I recently went back to Fullerton College and just paid $46/unit also (resident).

I believe long time ago, community college was free!

I stand corrected. $46 per unit for resident. $236 non-resident. My bad.

For that matter, even UC was tuition-free until 1970.
