The article says that retail locations that were found most profitable were those on Figueroa around LA Live. LA Live hosts 2-3 events daily and brings in thousands of SoCal residents, so this news isn't surprising.

Actually, the article says nothing about profitability. It measures "sales" or the top line not profit.

The areas in downtown ranking in the top 1 percent for highest sales in the state and nation included: Figueroa Street (between 7th and 8th), 7th Street (between Grand and Flower), LA Live and parts of Broadway. So not just LA Live....

The article also mentioned the downtown Ralphs as being a Top Ten sales performer for that chain's 300 plus stores.
