When it comes to watching the LA news, reading blogs authored by those in LA etc, you never quite know who to believe because of their willingness to side with their views other than to report on whats actually true. Im curious as to what the consensus of actual long time LA residents would be to my question. Discuss

Liberalism is too broad a term. It has an ever shifting meaning depending on the speaker and the context.

Bizarre? Trollish? How could you possibly know my party affiliation?

Really. Wouldn't a loaded question be more like, "how much has liberalism hurt LA?"

Silly liberals, logic is for grown-ups....

Pretty sure he's referring to his own voting patterns.

I'd say both. Bring up some specific issues.

You mean the LA Times or the LA Weekly? Those publications are both fairly conservative compared to their other big city counterparts.

Watching local news broadcasts I do not get any sense of political agenda.

Overall, I think "liberalism" has both helped and hurt Los Angeles.
