i'm trying to rent out my condo so i put it on craigslist.com but all of them are from England. if that case, how can i see the credit report??
so i suggest them to provide credit report from England or deposit 3 months rent. but none of them answer for credit report and they only wants to deposit 2 months.
is there anybody renting out to foreigner?

Hi Mia. I'm involved with similar situations in my line of work. My suggestion is definitely more money up front....

I list on Craigslist when I have vacancies and I'm finding out more and more I'm getting reponses from the UK. Beware !!!!!!!!!! It's a scam. They're willing to rent sight un-seen and ask for your name, and where to send the money order. You deposit the money order, which turns out to be fauduent (even your bank can't tell the difference), then you end up OWING the money - it's not like it's an NSF, but the money wasn't there to begin with. It can wipe you out.

My advise is to tell them when they get to the States, contact you to view your condo.

Also, for an unfurnished apartment/condo/house the maximum you can ask for a deposit is 2 times the rent. If it's furnished, 3 times the rent.

Excellent advice. I usually like to meet the person/people I will be renting to and like to give them a tour of the property. I would not suggest you rent to someone from another country who are not even here yet.

Thank you so much for your advise. one more suspicious thing was they are all wants to move their furniture from UK before they actually move in. so they ask me to receive their furniture delivery. and they willing to send me a check before the furniture deliver.
now it's all make sense. once i deposit a check, it will be a fraud.
You guys are my life savor!! thanks

Typical scam.

They send YOU money, and then something comes up. The bait is "rent."
