My DSL service from Frontier (who recently bought out Verizon in West L.A.) has been out for days, and it may be days before it gets fixed. This is very disappointing given Verizon provided excellent service. So then, I'm considering alternatives, perhaps TW Cable who only wants slightly more for their cable Internet service since they're having a special. Or perhaps a different DSL service so I don't need to rewire my den/laboratory with coax.

Sow how's your ISP reliability?

We switched to Time Warner. Frontier inherited a mess from Verizon and it will be a long time before they can fix it all.

Anyone having problems with "Verizon" internet. Landline or cable?

My DSL has been out since last Thursday. TW Cable is looking better by the day.

Verizon would give me a discount on my internet I would have to call them to renew it each year.
It just expired and I called Frontier to ask if they would renew it and they told me to get lost.

Their techs lied to me. In one case, I was told that there was somebody in the area working on an alleged local outage. I then called back to inquire as to why my neighbor had functioning DSL, and was then told that my repair ticket had actually been closed out several days previous and that nobody was working on my DSL outage.

I've been with Verizon for eons and mostly all was good. My DSL has been off and then back on. Some days it's fine. I'm not a fan of TWC. Guess I'm old and remember the older no cost cheaper days of watching tv. I don't watch tv a lot and pay too much.

i have had verizon fios for years and still have it now that its frontier..i have heard so many horror stories....thank god i haven't had any problems with my service since the change...i have never tried time warner but i hear alot of bad things about them to...my neighbors who have time warner always have a tech called out every couple weeks due to problems..so im kind iffy about them...i feel like every cable company is going to have their issues...sadly we are only limited to like 3 providers depending on what city you live in.

If you have FiOS, your service should be okay w/ Frontier, since you're using a fiber-optic network and none of that service should have been interrupted.

We had Time Warner years ago for TV, had some problems with them then, and switched to DirecTV. However, TW seems to have improved a lot in the past few years.
