Hi - my wife and I just moved here from the DC Area and are looking at places around Century City. We have an elementary school age daughter who was in AAP back home and really benefits in that kind of environment.

A couple of the places in that area mention that they are in the Westwood Charter School boundaries. The school gets great ratings, but the entire charter school system is new & confusing to us. LAUSD mentions that charter schools are filled by lottery, but the school also says that it enrolls students within its boundaries. Does that mean if we move to that area we're guaranteed a place at the charter school? Or only next year via lottery? Don't really understand.

Our preference right now is either Beverly Hills (south part) / Culver City, but that's partly because we don't really get the LAUSD system. Any thoughts as to how those would compare for an elementary-age AAP student are welcome. Thanks!

with respect to charter schools, if you live in the school boundaries then the lottery won't be relevant to you. lotteries are only used to fill extra seats.

AAP?
