luckily, im heading over to hawaii this weekend and there are 2 major hurricanes passing through.

but anyway, am i the only one who prefers winter in LA instead of summer? it doesn't rain during the summers here so it becomes too dry, too hot, smog gets bad and I just feel suffocated.

during the winter, temperatures are pleasant, it rains more often, air clears, its greener, etc.

LA winter > LA summer.

If these things are important to you, you should live and work near the beach.

doesn't really rain in the winter either. At least not during the 10 years I've been here. Sometimes the ground is wet when I wake up in the morning but I feel like I've only actually witnessed rain like a dozen times in 10 years

Not if you like rain. It rain much higher in the inland areas near the foothills. Annual Rainfall is double in a place like Upland compared to Santa Monica.

I prefer our winters more than summers, but this summer (so far) seems really mild, so it hasn't been bad. Hoping for some real rain this fall and winter!

Mild? Depends on where you are. It's been over 100 almost every day where I live and the world has been on fire for weeks at a time

Would I like more rain. Yes. Do I want the weather of the North East or South? Hell no. Dealt with it for 10 years. Will never understand the appeal of crappy weather.

I was raised in Ohio and OCCASIONALLY I do miss the big thunderstorms we used to get there. It's just kinda nice to actually have weather once in a while.

I lived half my life in the Midwest and continue to chuckle when I hear people complain about the heat. You haven't felt hot until you've experienced the stifling humidity in places like Chicago and St. Louis.
