And the frustrating part is that when you contact the local government for a basic service as a tax paying homeowner they drag their feet and say there are not enough workers , it's not in the budget , they are underfunded etc .

How do we have money to support people here illegally but not to maintain a basic quality of life for legal citizens ?
Another example is police response times . They are way too long as well .
Mexico and the other countries that illegals come from need to figure out how to take care of their citizens .
Ending massive corruption would be a good start.
It's blatantly clear that many people come to L.A and the U.S to benefit from the generous social services handed out like candy .

California gives out a disproportionate amount of welfare despite being 12% of the U.S population .
California is also has the highest poverty rate when adjusting for inflation .

We really aren't in a position to be supporting poor immigrants and their children , especially those that CHOSE to come here illegally or stay here illegally .

They come here illegally, they illegally set up a street cart, they illegally sell food and other items, they don't have a Business License, Sellers Permit, not rated by the Health Dept, they don't turn in quarterly taxes, they use expensive real estate without paying taxes. How many of us legal citizens could get away with that? We've been encouraged to be politically correct for many decades, well no more! One more thing, No English, No entry!

They also come by other goods and services illegally and tax-free, such as the cable/phone hook-up guy or the mechanic that gives a smog check pass to certain "friends" in their community. You won't find this information in the LA Times or the open-borders academic papers written by liberal professors in ivy towers, but if you spend any time in an illegal alien-heavy neighborhood or can read flyers in Spanish the evidence is there.

I'd like to know who the illegal alien business owners are that Garcetti is always gloating about .
He just says things but never has anything to back it up . Just expects people will believe his nonsense .
How much are they actually bringing into the economy? How much do they pay in taxes ?

The truth is the U.S.A. has become a nation of fat, lazy and complacent imbeciles.

As libertarian leaning economist Tyler Cowen has noted, "Immigrants are the greatest risk takers of all. They are the least complacent class."

Lazy Americans are hurting the economy - Apr. 12, 2017

Send the illegal immigrants who are serious/violent criminals back home. Give a path to citizenship (including payment of any back taxes) to the rest of illegal immigrants who are mostly hard working and definitely hungrier and less risk adverse than our current generation of lazy, entitled idiot Americans (including old and young people).

Also people working under the table for cash usually don't pay taxes .

Many housekeepers , gardeners and day laborers , etc are paid cash for example .
In all fairness, not as many as you'd think.
Texas, Nevada, and Florida all have plenty of illegals and don't have California's super-generous welfare state.
Although one could argue that if CA had the policies of TX or FL in other things, that there would not be as many problems created by illegals.

Do we really have a bunch of spare money to invest in this when our infrastructure is failing and our own citizens need help too ?

Sorry I don't think a larger consumer base or tax base is a great reason to just let everyone in .
This is the "bigger is better " , "quantity over quality " mentality .

A lot of that consumerism they do is also fueled by American citizen taxpayer dollars .
Using EBT ,WIC Food stamps on groceries fast food etc .

If you go to low income areas you'll see massive signs on the fast food places saying they accept EBT . Takes up about the whole side of the building.

The idea sanctuary cities are safer is nonsense too . many of the "immigrant" communities in L.A are super crime ridden with horrific crimes occurring daily .
SOME sanctuary cities are safer. Others are not.

For example, in Texas, sanctuary Austin and El Paso are safer than non-sanctuary Dallas, Fort Worth, or even San Antonio, and safer than Houston which just became sanctuary.

However sanctuary Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis, and Atlanta are definitely NOT safer.

Prior to the just passed sanctuary state law in CA - the only CA big cities which were NOT sanctuary cities were San Jose and San Diego, which happen to be the safest big CA cities.

Bottom line is there are other factors at work.
Whether or not sanctuary cities cause more crime, they're still illegal and unconstitutional.

Right which is why it's ridiculous that the pro sanctuary city crowd is always saying sanctuary cities are safer.

In a city like L.A where you have so many neighborhoods there of course is a big difference between crime rates in neighborhoods .
Of course since we don't have hard numbers due to the "undocumented" nature of illegals but I'm guessing there are more illegals living in neighborhoods like Pacoima versus in safer neighborhoods like westwood Brentwood ,etc .

There is already an immigration pathway available to anyone. Give them all boot and let them apply. The majority won't get in because no country in the world wants a large influx of poor uneducated unskilled people.
