Kind of funny there's a Huffington Post article from Feb praising him
Joe Bray-Ali for CD 1 | The Huffington Post

---
The Los Angeles City Council candidate who forced an incumbent into next month’s runoff election has been caught making derogatory comments online targeting the black and transgender communities, along with mentally disabled and overweight people.
The comments include the use of the N-word during participation in a racist forum dedicated to expressing hatred of black people. The revelations come about a week after Joe Bray-Ali apologized for a 9- year-old YouTube video in which he made comments directed at Mexicans.
The newly reported comments were made on a Reddit-like website called Voat under an online alias, ubrayj02, which Bray-Ali has used as his MySpace, Flickr and YouTube handle for more than a decade, according to LAist, which broke the story. Some of the comments are just over a year old.

Other commentators use the N-word and other derogatory and racist language repeatedly, and Bray-Ali did not denounce the language in his own posts. One commentator said, “I like it when they die. Black lives don’t matter. Good for entertainment though.”

Exhibiting any type of prejudice is not cool in modern day America. Doing it in public as a public official or media figure is infinitely worse.

I am totally racial, ethnic, religious, creed, gender, GLBT and any other kind of people friendly. I treat people as people, individuals, I do not rate them on what category or categories they fall into, whether chosen or inherited. Gawd you would think we would all be beyond prejudice by now, 2017.

Reminds me of when Carlos Bustamante, a fairly successful Democratic politician in Sacramento, used the N word twice in a public speech about Black history. File that one too under WTF...or was he auditioning for a remake of Kentucky Fried Movie...

We would be behind people making jokes? You have got to be joking. When was the last time you saw a live comedian?

The N word is one of the two most offensive words in my opinion. The other is prejudiced against Jews.

There is no excuse for such poor taste. You call it funny, I call it ugly. It's even more sad to me that people like you think it's funny.

What is the N word that's prejudiced against Jews?

It starts with K. I was discussing the most ultimate nasty, prejudiced words, not the starting letter.

FWIW I'm white, non-practicing Christian background, non-ethnic. I decry prejudice and don't think it's funny. Not in any context, not even in a nightclub.

Your ethnicity is irrelevant to the conversation. You are pointing it out only to virtue signal. I do not use the N word and think it an ugly word, but so long as rappers and comedians can hurl the words around freely just because they are black, they should expect others to use it.

Are you aware that the conversation was had with OCWeekly's Ask A Mexican, Gustavo Arellano who makes non stop jokes about Mexicans?oh I forgot, one needs to be of a certain ethnicity in order to be able to tell jokes about that ethnicity.

I'm just pointing out that I am not the intended target of such bigoted words. I'm not Black and Im not Jewish. The words offend me because they should offend everybody. (Except prejudiced bigots.)

I don't condone that it's okay for Blacks to use the "N" word in any circumstance except private. I'm offended if I hear it in pubic.

Take your last shot at me. I'm done.
