Good article breaking down the multiple failures of Garcetti and how he just views being Mayor of L.A as a stepping stone .

---

Mayor Eric Garcetti has a big problem. The “gelatinous one,” so named because he will never give a straight answer (e.g. is LA a sanctuary city or not?) wants to run for president, but both history and his resume say it will never happen.

Having spent most of his adult life as either an LA City Councilmember or Mayor, and little else other than being a candidate for political jobs elsewhere, Garcetti is a birdie who never flew the coop.

How’s that working out, LA?

During his stint as Los Angeles City Council president, the City Hall lawn became a drug- and feces-infested disaster – with his blessing – as he told Occupy LA protestors, “Stay as long as you need….we’re here to support you.”

But just weeks later, Garcetti’s welcomed guests created such a menace and health hazard, the city unleashed hundreds of LAPD officers on them through the bowels of LA City Hall as the property was closed down for months with scores of workers in hazmat suits de-pooping and de-needling it.

President Garcetti? Surely You Jest

Even L.A. mayors with better records in office like Bradley and Riordan never were elected to higher office. The only offices ever held by L.A. mayors after being mayor were judicial offices - Jim Hahn is still a judge right now. There is a reason for this. The rest of the state hates Los Angeles. The only region of California that doesn't hate L.A. is the Inland Empire and that's because so much of the IE is from L.A. and wishes they were still in L.A. For the Bay Area in particular, voting for an L.A. mayor is like rooting for the Dodgers.

There is no way in hell that Garcetti could appeal to any swing states, even Nevada and Arizona. He's the epitome of a far left cultural elitist out of touch with the average person, who has consistently failed at being mayor. He's exactly what the Dems don't need.

Mayor Cuckcetti is minor league - without the Westside kale chips from Wholefoods crowd and the various social nihilist activist groups, he'd be laughed into the political aether, especially in this new age where in the words of Twisted Sister, we're not gonna take it anymore.

Garcetti running for president is the only thing that would make the Bay Area vote for Trump (or Pence)

Well, considering we have an orange, learning-disabled, perverted, misogynistic, traitorous buffoon as president now, I guess anything is possible.

Just about anyone would be a step up.

Sounds like something virtue signaling master Eric Garcetti would say.

Also doesn't the left claim to be against discriminating against skin tone and the learning disabled? How learning disabled does one have to be to receive an economics degree from Wharton? How about building and running a billion dollar business with thousands of employees?
--

“He’s a racist. He’s a bigot. He’s sexist,” Garcetti told reporters in May
, criticizing the Republican presidential hopeful for his views on the economy, immigration and women, among other things. “What we cannot do with Donald Trump is normalize him as a candidate.”

Jerry Brown is too old (IMO) to run for President. IIRC, he'll be 80 next year (and 8 years older than Trump). I think Jerry actually ran for President once, may have been in 1976. It was obviously a token run, he was only a couple of years into his first term as California Governor. His best shot might have been 1988, he probably would have been a better candidate than DuKaKa, whether he would have beaten Bush 41 is another story.

Brown ran for President three times. The most serious of which was in 1976, in which he came closest to getting the nomination as he came in second to Carter. He would have made a better president than Carter, that's for sure, and would have done much better in the West than Carter. 1980 was Brown's "token run" - he pulled out early. His third and last time was in 1992, the only time he ever lost a Democratic primary in California.
