The homes are worth millions .. but many of them were bought years ago too.

Both rich and poor lose things in fires that money can't replace too .

I believe this fire was in Bel Air area which is one of the world's most expensive area... if you have millions in the bank then it's not such a big deal. There are so many other people outside of this filthy rich enclaves that suffer daily and nobody gives a damn so it's hard to feel sympathy for the wealthy, these people will be just fine.

The other ares where the regular folks are affected is heartbreaking, don't give a damn about the rich in Bel Air.

How do you feel about illegal aliens who take money from public coffers and suppress prevailing wages?

What's the cut off in home value, where one would be considered a 'regular folk'?

That IS shocking. You'd think the highway would've been closed before it got to that level, but I guess even the authorities can't predict a wildfire's direction or speed. We're fortunate there weren't a bunch of accidents from rubbernecking alone.

So anything you have earned you don't mind someone else taking it all away? Don't blame them because they are more successful than you.

You must really be struggling to have that much content for people who have worked harder or smarter than you and ended up with a better positions in life.
Rich or nor they are still people that have feelings, and had to leave certain things behind and may have to start over.Being well off doesn't make you and automatic jerk/evil person.
You probably have car insurance but i'm you would still hate to be in a wreck and go through the whole process of getting another car.
