And, yeah, Trump's actions are clearly purely venal. He's married to an illegal, has hired hundreds of illegals, and had zero problem with illegals until 18 months ago when he ran for office and came up with the "Build a Wall" idiocy.
That is the stupidest made up B.S. I have read in a long time. You do know what the word "Illegal" means, right? it means that 100% of illegal aliens are committing a crime every day they wake up in this great land of ours. 100% means all of them, from the 1 week old infant that was smuggled into this country in a backpack to the students that have over stayed their visa to the man and woman who have been living here everyday for 20+ years. Every single one of them is committing a criminal act every day.

Nope. Too bad the right is unable to understand criminal offense. What the illegals do is certainly illegal. But it is not criminal. Children under 18 for instance are illegal but not criminal. The penalty for their violation of the law is deportation not jail.

Pffttt. I'm Hispanic and I agree with getting rid of some people. Immigration under Obama was EXAGERRATED.

Why not start with those that have criminal records . There are so many already in sanctuary cities .

We have enough US born criminals we don't need to be importing them from other countries

Mexico was part of the Allies in WW2, albeit not a major player

Of course they're our ally, they send help during natural disasters.

They were an ally in WWII, but as a poor country, what were they really supposed to do?

So out of political correctness Trump shouldn't state any facts about Mexico or the quality of some of the folks that are being sent over. That's been a big part of the problem with all the Presidents. Just pretend everything is ok. No it's not ok.

Talk to anyone that knows people that actually lives in Mexico and they'll tell you about how bad the crime and corruption actually is over there.
Some of us don't want the U.S to turn into Mexico.

There are reasons people don't think illegal immigration is good and it's not because they are 'against Brown people".
Donald Trump, even if he did have a point, is terrible at articulating and often comes across as rude, childish, ignorant, etc.

Obviously Mexico has problems with crime, however that doesn't make trump's speech appropriate at all. And the US, the large cities in particular, have received plenty of immigrants from Mexico over the last few decades, and the US has not "turned into Mexico". Like I said earlier, I'm not saying we should have completely unrestricted immigration, but the rhetoric I hear from Breitbartians is ridiculous.

Mara Salvatrucha, known as MS-13, is a transnational gang with a heavy presence in Central America -- but it actually began in the United States three decades ago.

MS-13 began in Los Angeles in the 1980s amid a flood of Salvadorans fleeing a civil war to the US.
It was the US deporting these immigrants in the '90s back to Central America that sent the gang there, where it took hold.

Now the gang has footholds in the US and in Central America in cities like Los Angeles, New York and the Washington, DC, region and countries like El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

While it's unknown how much of the Central American strength of MS-13 was homegrown, a Congressional Research Service analysis of MS-13 found that its ranks were continuously strengthened by deportees from the US returning home, even as members also migrated to the US.

There were roughly 24,000 MS-13 members in Central America in 2012, according to an analysis by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Today, the Justice Department estimates roughly 30,000 members worldwide and more than 10,000 in the US, a number that has held steady for some years but that the department believes is trending upward.
The Obama administration Treasury Department in 2012 sanctioned the gang as a transnational criminal organization -- the first such designation for a street gang.

Not sure what part of L.A you are familiar with but the "immigrant" parts of town have some pretty deplorable conditions . This is from person experience as a native that has lived in various parts of the city.
Just reality not something I read on a site .

Not PC to say but unfortunately poor and uneducated folks that come here illegally from other countries bring their bad habits with them .

But not the worst.

There are parts of South LA which don't have many immigrants and which have worse conditions than even Van Nuys, Canoga Park, Panorama City, Pacoima, etc.

I live in New York, their presence in NYC proper is minimal but there are hamlets in Suffolk County where they have committed a string of homicides. Even these places haven't been "taken over" by MS-13 but have too much of their presence for anyone's comfort.
