Think Colonial Revival or Greek Revival. A brick house with columns surrounded by palm trees is quite the sight, I must say.

Hmm...I'd say take a look at Pasadena, Claremont and Hancock Park.

But many of these hoods have distinctly Californian influences such as the Craftsman or Bungalow styles. That said, I think there are a decent chunk of Revival style homes that have an east coast or old Europe look/feel.

While maybe not completely Colonial Revival / Greek Revival, there's some definite east coast feel (Cap Cod style, etc.) in Brentwood / Pacific Palisades.

Brick is very rare. I'm assuming because of earthquakes. But as for other styles reminiscent of the east coast, there are quite a few. Craftsmen are popular, though not exactly pure east coast.
