Hi

I am from India and I was hoping to find some information about renting an apartment in Glendale preferably near Dreamworks Animation Studios. Biking distance or regular walking distance is fine with me.

How do I go about gathering such information? Do I contact renting agencies via mail? Do you guys know of a nice rated rental agency?

Also, how is Glendale for a newcomer who hasn't been to LA ever?

Thanks for any help regarding this!

Regards

I live in that part of Glendale. Most places that aren't big corporate complexes are owned by David Schultz company. You can google them to see what they have for rent. There is also a website called hotpads that you can google to see everything that is for rent.

There is a complex near me called Fort Dearborn house that is filled with Indian families. It looks like a decent place but they are older apartments. They do have good parking and lots of things to walk to.

Glendale is cleaner than most parts of LA. It has a good police department and feels a lot safer. Burbank is just as good and downtown Burbank is a nice area. If you're working in northwest Glendale then rent in Burbank or Glendale. There is no reason to have a commute here when there are plenty of affordable areas near there.

Enjoy

Hi @nightlysparrow, sorry for the late reply.

I am not sure about the budget. I don't want to go too high for sure. I will be glad if you could link me up to some rent structures online so that I can compare. For example, the minimum rent and a bit higher one. Sorry for not being specific as such. Since I will be living alone (or shared, if that's an option) a single bedroom apartment will be fine for me.

That's what I wanted to know, whether I will be able to find affordable places near my work.
Thanks so much for the overall information!

Cheers.

You are still not being specific enough. Are you talking no more than $1000 a month or no more thaan $2000? I would, at least just start by checking out rentals.come and go from there. At least it will give yu an idea. Then you might want to check out any of the large real estate companies in the area and see if they have a property management dept.
