I just saw the news story about the proposal for a new sports arena in Inglewood, despite the current law that states the land needs to be used for more affordable housing. So, even though we hear civic leaders make the case that there's a severe "housing shortage" and we need more apartments and such that exceed existing height limits (i.e. "upzoning"), and there's even a current law stating that the land available for this proposed sports arena needs to be used for affordable housing, the local civic leaders are disregarding it, clearly because the envelopes of money being passed to the civic leaders by sports arena developers exceeds those from most housing developers.

And there you have it. If we build it, they will come, and the "shortage" is perpetual, just as are the envelopes full of money from developers, being passed to civic leaders. Nobody in government truly cares about the cost of housing, obviously, so you people need to stop being duped by all this nonsense about a "housing shortage". The aforementioned anecdote actually makes the rule in favor of it, because there's absolutely no benevolent reason to not build more "affordable housing" in place of yet another sports arena.

Case closed!

Your evidence and logic is absolutely irrefutable. You should consider submitting such an erudite analysis to some economic journals for publishing.

Yeah, tar and feather those rabble-rousing academics and their "studies" and "science" and "facts." I prefer viewpoints that have no basis in research whatsoever!

And attributing made up quotes to Plato is the definition of certifiable.

Just a poor translation of the Greek to English.

Better advice: Don't allow a preposition to dangle, if somebody is to take a quote seriously.
