The only 2 drag strips are Bakersfield and sorry I know nothing about it, and at California Speedway in Fontana. There is a nice strip along the side of their huge parking lot.

South Central, Compton, Inglewood always got street racings going on. Those souped up Honda civics are a killer.

Seriously, I can't believe there are some people still driving slammed Civics with resonator tips. I attended a car show a few weeks ago and saw a remarkable number of them. I wanted to ask their owners if they were time travelers visiting from the 90's.

(In my best grumpy old man voice)
If those young people didn't drive so fast, maybe they wouldn't be so furious.

I'm sorry OP, but that lifestyle doesn't exist out here in that form. The state of California (or "commiefornia") is very restrictive about what parts you can put on your car to modify them. They must be CARB certified. And the CHP does random inspections.

If you are caught street racing, they take your car and crush it.

I like cars and racing like you do OP, but CA is not the mecca anymore nor has it been for a while. Even cruising is illegal, they post signs on the major popular routes like Sunset.

I'd say check Texas for a southern, warm state with some car culture.
