Hello,

I am French and I will be moving to L.A. at the end of the week with my wife. We will be living around Sawtelle-Venice.

My wife has an interview in a company based in the center of Cucamonga. It seems too far to do it every morning, doesn't it ?

Could you please let me know the approximate driving distance between the two places ? How long does it take by car in the morning ? In the evening ?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

Laurent

You'll spend nearly as much time on the freeways as you will at work.

the drive would be a reverse commute in the sense that most people would be headed the opposite direction to their place of work. however, the sheer distance between the two is probably around 60 miles (almost 100km) each way, which would make for a painful commute even if your wife hit no traffic.

there is no way this will work. Are you locked into living in Venice area and where will you be working?

Many years ago I did a long commute and I lasted 4 months before I quit the job. It was horrible.
Your time is more important to you than you might think....

Eastbound on the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) is the 'inbound' route during the morning commute to downtown Los Angeles. Then there's all of the congestion at the East LA interchange and beyond until about the 605 as you continue eastward to Rancho Cucamonga (which is still about another 30 minutes away, at least...).

I would not do that commute.
