I'm thinking of buying a place in View Park.

Can anyone tell me more about the neighborhood? Any one living in the neighborhood?

I love the views and the homes. Just wanted to get more firsthand info.

Thanks!! I appreciate it!!

View Park-Windsor Hills, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I believe the area has been referred to as the "Black Beverly Hills".

We moved to View Park in March. We like it - it's pretty quiet, most people don't even know it exists. There's a homeowner's association, which is useful (www.uha1979.org), and the neighbors on our street organize a street party every year.

I feel very safe walking the dog at night, there's usually a couple of other people around also walking the dog, and often people exercising too.

The majority of people there are African American, although that's never been an issue, AFAIK, and of the two families that I know of that have moved into the area since us, neither are AA.

This is the house my Dad grew up in on Harcross Drive in Windsor Hills. I'd live in that neighborhood without a second thought.

Thanks for the feedback! I really do love the neighborhood. I'm in the process of purchasing a condo. The views are awesome from our condo. It would be nice to join the association. I just wanted to get a feel of potential neighbors of the area/community. Thanks a lot!!

So what does an average two bedroom condo goes for in View Park?

Also the photo of that house above looks more like Winsor Hills which is a nice area. Although the part of View Park I've ever seen have homes that are larger and much more exclusive.

I guess you missed this part: "This is the house my Dad grew up in on Harcross Drive in Windsor Hills."

On a clear day, the view from the top of Kenneth Hahn is awesome. From various points on the hill, you can see downtown, the Hollywood Hills, LAX, and RPV.

There is also a small bit of native vegetation along La Brea Ave, if you want to see (and smell!) what the area used to be like.

The main bit of the park is nice: just a park really. As for me, I like to hike up to the top of the hill from Don Lorenzo and La Brea just to check out the view.
