Hi. To make a long story short, i was hit from behind(not real hard) on a freeway a few days ago by someone who said she'd take care of any damage. Well, can't get a hold of her, and now i'm wondering, is she who she says she is? Anyway, is there anyone out there who knows how to or can get someones name and address by running their lic. plate number?? Trying to avoid going to police or my insurance, but may have to.Anyway, if theres anyone who can do this please PM me so i can give you the plate number. I heard about getting info on line using a lic. number but not sure. Thanks!!

You didn't get a police report?

You may be out of luck. She could deny ever causing any damage now.

How come you didn't get her address and phone number when you exchanged information with her?

What to Do After a Car Accident

"After the accident, exchange the following information: name, address, phone number, insurance company, policy number, driver license number and license plate number for the driver and the owner of each vehicle. If the driver's name is different from the name of the insured, establish what the relationship is and take down the name and address for each individual. Also make a written description of each car, including year, make, model and color — and the exact location of the collision and how it happened. Finally, be polite but don't tell the other drivers or the police that the accident was your fault, even if you think it was."

I can still go to a station and file a report. But as far as having them come at the scene of the accident, they would not. It had to be more then a fender bender, something more serious with maybe injury. So now it may just end up being a he said she said?

I got into a minor accident last year. Some guy swerved into my car claiming that another person forced him into my lane. I had a witness who pulled over and said that he swerved into me. 1 month later, his insurance tried to claim 75%/25%. I said, no way.

After sending it to arbitration, which took 2 months, they finally were determined to be 100% at fault based on 2 vs 1.

In your case, 1 against 1, you may be forced to pay a certain percentage if not 50%.
