Hello.

My husband and I are new to Louisville and just got an apartment on the eastside of Louisville. Although we just signed a lease for our apartment, we want to start looking for houses now so that we can get an idea of what's out there. (We are originally from Evansville, IN.) Does anybody know of any good websites that I can browse for houses in/around the Louisville area? I know there are move.com and realtor.com, but I don't like how those sites don't provide as much detail (mainly exterior AND interior photos of houses) as other sites can provide. I did try googling, but I was wondering if maybe someone else may know of other realty sites that I am missing.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can use nearly any broker's site with a property search feature which uses IDX. IDX member firms share our listings with all the other IDX members. For example, all Semonin's listings are on my website, and all my firm's listings are on Semonin's. That being said, I recommend (even to my own detriment) that buyers never buy from the listing broker. This assures you that you will receive better representation than you can get from a dual agent who represents both the seller and the buyer.

The two sites below are quite useful and do not require registration of your personal info (name, address, email address, etc.) to use them:

Louisville Real Estate|REMAX Properties East|Realtors|Find a Home in Louisville Kentucky|search the MLS in Kentucky

and as someone else posted:

Semonin Realtors | Search for Property in Louisville, KY and Southern IN (http://www.semonin.com/Content/Content.aspx?CategoryID=283621 - broken link)

Hope this helps.

The Blog rules state that I can not advertise, yet the catch 22 is that others can add my competitors websites. I am certainly not upset, just simply seeking to keep the field open and level.

Allthough I have my own website, I cannot reccomend due to the rules of the forum. But I will reccomend to you tullia.com. It is an excellent real estate website and it has listings from different real estate firms in the area. I actually use this website when checking real estate that is outside of our local mls area.

Mdawg - I find the website you referenced not very user friendly - the pictures are all so tiny and everything loads slower than other sites I've tried. I will keep their name as a reference though - thanks.
