Not no, but heck no. Is there a budget problem...yes. Is it unique to Macon-Bibb...nope. Has every other locality in the state figured out how to balance a budget without an OLOST? yes. We can too. Have the healthcare and pension issues been fixed? No. Why would I support a new tax when existing issues haven't been addressed.
Short answer...I won't. I am not a die hard tax opponent either. I can be persuaded to invest in my community via taxation if it is for the correct reasons. Kicking the can down the road because the county commission refuses to address difficult topics such as pensions and healthcare is not a sufficient reason.
