Default Southern most town of Dane Cty

Hi there---I currently live in Fitchburg but have taken a position located in Rockford but have no desire to relocate there. While I'd really love to move back to Madison I would like to shorten my commute time by as much as possible but at least remain in Dane County. What is the southern most town in Dane County? Anyone know anything about Albion?

Not much to know besides it's tiny. Why stay in Dane county if you're working in Rockford? You would get much cheaper rent, housing, taxes in Rock county.

Is your desire to stay in Dane County because of proximity to Madison? If so, I have to say that if you are considering Albion you might as well go into Northern Rock County for the reasons GoldDust noted. One small town in Southern Dane County is pretty much like another small town in Northern Rock County. From your previous posts it sounds like you don't mind the small town atmosphere so which small town you live in shouldn't make a huge difference.

I have heard that Evansville (Rock County) is a very nice, progressive little town and it is certainly picturesque from what I've seen. The City of Evansville, WI - Official Home Page

Also, I might add that I don't think Albion is much of a "community". I don't *know* this for sure, but when I considered moving out there once (I'm originally from Janesville) it seemed to be very rural and spread out, more like a suburb than a town. I never actually got to the point of actually looking at houses though, so I could be wrong. I just looked it up in Wikipedia and according to it there are 38.5 square miles and a handful of people over 2000, so that supports my impression. Madison is something like 50 square miles with 123,000+ to give it perspective.
