I remember ordering an Italian when I first moved up here. I had no idea what they were talking about when they asked turkey, ham or beef. The first time I put in a phone order to the local pizza shop for a pizza, half pepperoni and half mushroom, the gal asked me what half I wanted the pepperoni on. After a short pause, I said the bottom half. It took her completely by surprise!

Should I even mention Chinese pie, or "paté Chinois"? Google it so I don't have to get into it here.

We call it shepherd's pie. It's a staple recipe here.

I do like fiddleheads and whoopie pies. I remember one time my b/f and i came up for a trip, and he ordered "ribs" in a restaurant.

The plate appeared with a giant, curved rib on it that looked like something out of an episode of the Flintstones! This was quite a few years ago lol
