Hoping for suggestions for truck scales to weigh a rental moving truck in the Lewiston, Augusta, or Topsham areas. Have located one on Lexington Road in Lewiston, but I'm not sure if the information we got from the government office down here is current.

Thank you!

Why do you need to weigh a rental moving truck?

Payment for a do-it-yourself move in the military (DITY move) is based on weight. The truck is weighed empty and full on a certified truck scale, then we enclose the weight receipt with the move paperwork to get reimbursed. It's our retirement move from the military.

Thank you for the link, retiredtinbender!

O ok. When I was a kid and we moved a bunch of guys showed up at our house with a truck and took all our stuff. Then at the next base after what seemed like far to long a truck with a bunch of guys brought all our stuff in our new house me and my brothers job was to peel off all the stickers. Though many items I have got from my parents over the years still have those stickers on them.

Thank you for serving.

We always kept the stickers on. Good reminiscing material later on. Thanks for your service Fern. Which branch? Now sit back with the rest of us vets in Maine. Welcome.
