Steam from the hot tub is now blocking the view. On the way down to -25 below tonight, no wind.

Sat in a snow bank in my snowmobile suit and watched until totality. Very nice.

Default 11:20 PM Arlington Virgina

The moon is _very_ brightly lit along its' lower edge now - bright white light. The light is coming back! One might imagine how primitive peoples might have interpreted an eclipse and its' ending. This great regular night light and visitor suddenly growing dark and dim - and then, hallelulia, is coaxed back, no doubt after lots of chants and prayers.

Would it be so simple to try to get our world, our peace back again...

The coolest image of a plane passing across the lunar eclipse you'll see tonight:

By far one of the coolest total lunar eclipses I've seen. The kids and I watched for an hour or so. My oldest son (9) was into big time. He informed me that the bright blueish star was "Regulus" and the other was actually Saturn.

Perfectly clear night for viewing. Good times!

Writer I dub you "The Moon Photographer of The Year." Because you couldn't make it, I graciously accepted your award!! Very nice photos.
It was an amazing sight. Toward the end of the Eclipse tho, it was blurry. Thought the Aegis missile our Navy shot might have strayed of course and whacked the moon!
