People complain about the condition of the roads and when they are being repaired the same people complain about waiting in line for a miniute or two in line. Makes no sense to me.

Like Forest said alittle planning or thinking will go along way in avoiding lines if you can't handle them. I don't think anyone likes standing in line so when a new movie comes out I wait a couple of weeks and have the theater all to ourselves versus long lines the first weekend the movie comes out.

Yankee stinginess? Where???

Well, I have found it in one place, and it strikes me as very peculiar: Standing in line.

Twice while waiting in line for the confessional at church, I have witnessed people get into arguments (one quite heated) over whose turn it was next. All over an extra five minutes, if that. (Maybe they were trying to work up an extra sin or two before going in? )

The other day at the library, two women got into a verbal tussle over whose turn it was in line. The older lady was more than a little rude. And really: would it have been the end of the world to have to wait in line an extra 90 seconds?

I've seen similar occurrences in lines at fast food joints, the post office, my favorite local coffee house, and the theater.

What is it about standing in line that makes some folks lose all sense of generosity?
because we have better things to do then stand in line while some one rummages through their purse for that 30 cent off coupon.
or some one calls for a price check on thong underwear.
it cuts into my drinkin time and then the drinkin time cuts into my huntin time.
and when it cuts into my huntin time i have to hunt at night to catch up for the next day.i tried combining the two but do you know how hard it is to hold a btl of rum while aiming a rifle.
what bugs me in going in to wal-mart and seeing 20 registers and only 2 open and both lines have 15 people in them.
why have 20 if your only going to open 2.

They do make canteens called 'Camel backs', that you can wear like a backpack. They have a flexible tube that you can clip to your shirt collar, then you fill them with rum or whiskey or wine or whatever. So even while your sighting your rifle in on a bear you can still take a sip of your favorite refreshment.

Modern inventions are great, and life is often made better through chemistry.

during the summer Mainers are more impatient then they are in the winter.
this in why we dont like to wait in line.
why are we more impatient because wintah is comin and every minute counts.

You are right, Ranger,
Every minute DOES count, regardless of where a person lives.
If I see a line, I just change my target and find something similar with no line.
