The natives here(on the Maine Forum) tolerate us "from away" people but we know in our hearts that we are "not family." And we have to keep our place.

Please, I implore you: Don't perpetuate this stereotype. While it's true that there are some natives who feel this way, there are still many others who strongly believe that as long as "W
hen in Rome, do as the Romans do" applies, anyone from who is not natively born here will be welcomed by the, sigh, "natives." They just don't seem to spend much time posting on CD.
Now, on the other hand, if someone moves here and sets about post haste to change the way of doing things to reflect wherever it was that they sought to get away from (as does often happen) THEN you'll see that Mainer's generally don't have much of a problem with speaking their minds about how newcomers can "not let the door hit them on the way out."
