Hello all. Just wondering if anyone knows of any decent rental properties in Frostburg. My wife and I are college students who have been searching all summer for a place closer to the university, but have had absolutely no luck. Joining a forum like this seemed like a good idea to get some info. I've already checked newspapers and done websearches, only to come away frustrated. Anyway, if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. Good day to all!

A lot of the properties in the student rental district have big signs on them with numbers to call.

Default Apt in Frostburg

I was a "non-traditional" student at FSU. I worked a FT job and had a difficult time finding a place to live my Junior/Senior year that was quiet, nice, that DIDN'T view me as a typical student, and didn't charge astronomical semesterly rent... I feel your pain!

I would recommend you try the Braddock Apartments. They are really close to campus (right of I-68 exit for campus - take the 1st right). The apartments are nice, affordable, safe, and next to a community, Braddock Heights, that allows for great walks. You can also walk to campus.

Another idea is the College Flats on Grant St. Across the street from the original buildings (87 and 89 S. Grant) is a new building (91 S. Grant St, I think...). These cater more to grad students and non-tradionals in my opinion. They come furnished (with really nice furniture and fixtures - not your typical college furniture). They are certainly home-feeling. Again, these are within walking distance to campus, but it's a little more of a hike. PM me for the point of contact.

Best of luck...

Default Apts in Frostburg

I am also a "non-traditional" student attending FSU. I live in Welsh Hill apartments and it is great! The landlord is diligent about noise violations and makes sure that he gives the apartments to people with good background. His name is Bob and owns many apartments in Frostburg and a person with good reputation.

Do not move into Lyric building on Main st. I had to move out because of noisy students partying and smoking 2am in the morning. Nothing was done to stop this other than another "warning".
