Did you miss it folks?

Gov O'Malley wants YOU to pay for the storm damage.

Makes sense to me.

BG&E doesn't do any trimming, trees tear down wires, and of course, it's your fault.

Am I glad I left?

Actually BGE has a pretty aggressive trimming program.

Yeah, but the charge is only a couple dollars a month that goes with the couple dollars a month to entice entrepreneurs to build windmills that goes with the couple dollars a month to pay for the State mandated SmartMeters.

That destroy mountain forests, alter ridgetop geography and ecology, create massive runoff, AND lack any ability to store the power they generate off the grid. End result, no reduction in fossil fuel usage, just warmer electrical wires.

Windmills in Western Maryland will be a complete sham until the power they generate can be stored. The wind doesn't blow frequently enough for them to be a realiable source of energy, and power companies will not tolerate brownouts.

It's different in some areas. Like in my neighborhood, the trees were planted on the public owned side of the sidewalk which is not the homeowner's property. It's the county's. So, we call them to request that trees be trimmed. Their responsibility. Not the homeowner's. Therefore, the electric companies should be charging the state and counties.

Tree trimming for line clearance was much better before "deregulation".
