If it wasn't Southern, she'd have used oatmeal or cream of wheat.

That is correct.

You also aren't able to buy frozen chitterlings at a regular grocery store north of Maryland (at least I never saw them).

Who cares? Maryland is Maryland. It's different to everyone.

ANY state BELOW the Mason Dixon line is considered "Southern"

They used to teach that in school.

Allow me to quote the most illustrious Mr. Charlie Eckman:

"You know it, I know it."

We also consume scrapple and crabs (which seems to be atypical in a majority of the South other than Virginia) as well. I don't see how one person's diet should automatically classify this state as part of one particular region or another. Unless this a cheek-by-jowl thread with the intention of b@ll-busting

Maryland is a Northern state....it relate to the south in no form outside of being under the Mason dixon line. Southern states call Maryland northern so please stop trying to put us with those class of people.

I don't know but, I DO know that this question has been asked NUMEROUS times on this board, so apparently it ISN'T being taught as much as it used to be, otherwise there wouldn't be so many threads asking the question.

Either that or those asking didn't do to well in history class.
