Mountain Maryland for permanent residence? (Baltimore, Oakland: middle schools, live, zoned)

I own a residential lot in Garrett County, Maryland. Specifically, due north of Deer Park and close to the south shore of deep creek lake. There is a trail down to the lake from my lot. A new career opportunity would allow me to work from anywhere. We were originally going to hold onto the land an build a vacation house. We are now discussing full time residency potential.

I understand the weather extremes and intense snowfall. It seems MDOT does good snow removal on the main roads during winter. At least when I was down there

I have some questions if somebody could answer for me that lives around deep creek full time.

1. How are the internet service providers for speed?
2. Is cell phone service good in the deer park area?
3. When people fly do you go to Morgantown airport or drive to Pitt or DC?
4. Are Garrett County schools good?

Unfortunately, I can't really answer #1 and #2. I do know that people from the Oakland part of Garrett County tend to use Pittsburgh and Morgantown for airports, shopping, hospitals, it would be about 2 to 2.5 hours away (Pittsburgh.) The Baltimore/D.C. airports would be 30 minutes to an hour further.

The public high schools in Garrett County are OK so far as I know. Northern has a better reputation than Southern, which you are probably zoned for. I don't have any knowledge about the elem, and middle schools. Hopefuly some Deep Creek/Garrett County folks will see this and help out.
