I remember years ago visiting the eastern shore and indulging in the classic eastern shore restaurants that seemed to cater almost more to the local/watermen crowd vs. being entirely touristy.

I am going on a fishing trip and staying near Kent Narrows for a few days in August. I remember going to Angler's and especially Holly's for breakfast and fried chicken, but alas, both seem to be gone.

Do these institutions even exist anymore on the eastern shore? The pine paneled and old school vibes with cheap filling food?

All of the current places near Kent Narrows especially seem to be carbon copies of each other selling the same basic tourist seafood/bar menu.

Am I missing any hole in the all spots maybe further inland or tucked away of the beaten path?

Red Roost in Quantico. Through the backroads to get there. AYCE crabs, chicken, snow crab options. It's not cheap but the decor is definitely not touristy. Been there many a time.

Not a seafood restaurant but I highly recommend Frix's Fire Grill. It's in a strip mall but the food is Brazilian and fantastic.

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't tried any of these restaurants.

By the way, what are some good seafood restaurants on the western shore?
