BUT, the casinos are open, with major crowds and people coming and going in the hotel's. MGM's way of handling was to cancel the all you can eat brunch to ala carte.

Not exactly the best foot forward in a community crisis. I can only hope they get shamed into recognizing their mishandling of the situation.

Let's hope that they can come up with a vaccine quickly. All the social distancing, public place closures and such will "flatten the curve", but that will also extend the time for the end of the pandemic, since fewer people will be getting the virus to gain the immunity. More people with immunity is usually how these diseases burn out before a vaccine can be implemented.

Once you have the immunity, and you are exposed to the virus a second time, your body will kill it off before you can become communicable. This is what herd immunity is all about. This could be a lousy summer, otherwise. The virus will last longer on outside surfaces when it does not get cold overnight.

Yup, that is exactly the plan. The pain is probably just beginning. I hope they can come up with a vaccine for this virus that returns life to normal, but I am not entirely sure it will work out that way. We could just be stuck with the bug at this point.

Actually the thought is that the opposite is true for this one, higher temperatures knock the out instead of cold.

I just got back from the grocery. The parking lots are their typical Tuesday 3/4 full at all of them as is the Wal-Mart.

So much for the "stay at home" mantra.

Oh, I went because when I went shopping last Thursday I intentionally didn't buy as much as usual so there would be something for others, so I was just getting today what I didn't get last week and need now.

Still no water, paper towels, toilet paper or frozen food.

We didn’t panic, but the dog, was who is finicky, is running out of chicken. I went to two stores and the only chicken I found was apple wood flavored chicken sausage at one store. Hopefully she will eat it.

I wish I had panicked a little.

Kudos to whoever came up with the idea to close the emissions test facilities and use them for drive through testing centers. That is a perfect place to do it.

An effective, widely available vaccine is at least a year out but research on antiviral medications to directly combat this coronavirus seem promising and could be available before the development of a vaccine.

I'm thinking this pandemic just might come in two waves at the least, with the first wave ending as it warms up and then reemerging at the end of summer possibly. That's what happened with H1N1 in 2009. But we'll just have to see.

I never expected it, I know better, but those in charge seem to.
