As much as we all love City-Data Forum, make sure to take a break to get outside tonight to watch the meteor showers in the next several hours. We all are heading outside in a few minutes

Some info for you:
This year the peak of the Perseids coincides almost perfectly with the new moon. This means that there will be no moonlight to spoil the show. The best time to start watching for meteors is on Sunday evening, Aug. 12 around 10:30 p.m. The peak actually occurs at 1 a.m., but you will see shower members as soon as it gets dark on Sunday night. Get your favorite lounge chair out and set it up facing east. As your eyes adjust to the darkness you will begin to see fainter and fainter stars. It takes most adults approximately 30 minutes to become fully dark adapted. When you reach this state be sure to keep your gaze away from all forms of white light. If you need a light to illuminate your journal or star chart, use a flashlight covered with red cellophane. This will reduce the light to a brightness that will allow you to see your notes, but not ruin your dark adapted eyes.

Enjoy the show!!
