Smile Why Don't Nh And Mass Get Along

What is the big dislike between NH and Mass people. They seem to hate each other.

As much as may legally be carried; buying it in NH has no impact what-so-ever. From the constitution: "Congress Shall Have the Power To ... Regulate Commerce ... amoung the several States."

I think your post is probably pretty acurate though. I have heard of mass staties waiting over the boarder to ticket people who purchased fireworks in NH (which are illegal in Massachusetts).

I am from Salem. A lot of my friends live in Haverill or Dracut. We all seem to get along just fine. New England is New England.

Default Stupid M*******s!

Typically it’s because m*******s bring a certain arrogance with their ignorance in to our fine state. Look around you, that guy backing up on the highway for the exit he missed, Check the plate… Massachusetts. You have a person throwing his cigarette butt out the window. Massachusetts. A guy gives you the finger after he cuts you off? Massachusetts. A wrong way drunk driver kills your kid? Massachusetts. When you learn the guy has 25 prior convictions for DUI and does no time, Massachusetts. Guy kills a Manchester, NH cop, yup from Massachusetts. The idiots who vote for every tax increase until they are driven from their own state…where they from? Yup Massachusetts. The state that not only loves pedophiles but elects them to congress (see Gary Studds). Your catching on Massachusetts. That person allowing his dog to **** on your lawn, sees you looking and says “F U” that’s right they are transplants from Massachusetts. That person offended by you flying an American flag in your own yard. Massachusetts. A person who wants a sex change operation and wants you to pay for it… Massachusetts. The state that allowed Mohamed Atta to get on a flight and fly it in to the World Trade Center…Massachusetts. The state where Bin Ladens relatives lived before 9/11? Massachusetts. The state where people pronounce words like: “Over hear’a! Over “they’er” Come here’a” “Go wred sox”. A state that spends 15 billion dollars on a tunnel that collapses and kills a women. Yup Massachusetts. Ect…

I think for the most part NH and MA get along but I do agree with spktraders to a certain extent. I think one reason that alot of people from NH don't like paople from MA is because people from MA will move to NH and drive up the cost of housing and they end up raising the taxes. Some people from MA bring a bad attitude with them to NH.

Well, if spktrader is any indication, apparently some NH residents don't like Mass. residents, but I'm not aware of actual problems between reasonable people in either state. ;-) I've never given much thought to New Hampshire; I have some family there are and we visit, and I've gone camping there. If you want rivalry between states, you have to look to the baseball rivalry of Sox-Yankees. lol

I think most from Mass don't really think about NH except as a playground and an exburb of Boston. However, most of the venom is from NH, as shown in spktrader's post.

Since most of southern NH is now part of the Boston metro, most of the growth has displaced the charming New England feel that NH had with congestion and pollution and strip malls. Also, Massachusetts is the center for business in the region and has a huge economy when compared to NH. So, some competition and jealousy might be involved. The irony is that New Hampshirites hate people from Massachusetts but really need them to grow their economy and population. Politics also are different as Mass is more liberal when compared to NH.

It is unfortunate though that people in Southern NH don't see themselves as part of the Boston region and work together for a better tomorrow. The provincial attitudes are quite widespread in NH. I remember when Manchester's Airport renamed themselves Manchester-Boston Airport, there was an incredible uproar.
