Hi,

Accepted an offer to work in Chelmsford and am wondering how's the commute like between Acton/Boxborough and Chelmsford during rush hours? Would it be better to commute on I-495 or on local roads?

We are tentatively set on Acton/Boxborough mainly becos of its reputedly great school system and their rural town appeal, and intend to rent initially while searching for a place to buy but find that there are few rental selections, especially in Boxborough. We have looked at realtor.com, rent.com and redfin and would appreciate any suggestions/idea on where we may further look. Thanks!

It depends on where exactly you end up living and where in Chelmsford your office is located, but most likely you will drive on 495 for a couple exits. Traffic in that area isn't really anything to worry about, however.

Acton is a very quick commute to Chelmsford. Route 27 North goes directly to Chelmsford center, only taking 15-20 minutes. You might check out the Nagog Woods complex for rentals.
