They also used to say that Billerica is Somerverille with trees and I've heard Dracut referred to as Somerville with cows.

Quoting a 2013 thread because I didn't know that about Irfox. My mom was a BCC prof who did a 9 or 10 month winter rental on Westport Point for many years. She had some kind of off-season Bakers Beach membership that didn't work in July/August when she wasn't in town.

I was just at Bakers a couple of weeks ago on Labor Day Friday.

You can't list Bakers Beach as an attraction because their membership wait list has been closed for at least a decade. Barney's Joy in South Dartmouth is even worse now that it's been donated to the Audubon Society. There will never be a new member there.

I would avoid any towns out of my budget, high in crime, and over a 45 minute commute.

Well on this very same board there are people who think Brockton is the Promise Land, and that places like Abington and Easton are wild west gangland. So I wouldn't get too comfortable...
