Funny! Before we left Bakersfield, which is the western version of Texas, I posted a very similiar tree. Just can't believe the beauty here. It's like just looking around you and smelling the clean, crisp air is a gift.

Well, your trees look good compared to mine. We do have a giant pinnapple across the street. Nothing falls from it but bird droppings though. Here is a tree from my yard, it's hard to see in the corner there. I can't wait to decorate it for the holiday. lolhttp://www.city-data.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9870&stc=1&d=119453447 8

At least you guys have a nice, cheap housing stock that's well-insulated. And I think that pineapple's pretty! Oh well, it's always greener on the other side (or browner in my case).

Hey, I miss the fall foliage, too (although I did see a few red maples with fall colors on them in a swamp down here today) but in a month or so when the ground's frozen in Massachusetts, and the leaves are all gone, the cold wind's blowing, the snow's flying, etc., you won't miss it at all.

I am a sucker for the cold!!!!!! Last year when Fort Worth got our "Blizzard" which was about a 1/2 inch of snow I called into work drug my lawn chair out in the middle of the yard bundled in a blanket and drank coffee as I made sure I was facing the wind so the snow would hit me in the face!!!! It looked so pretty and i enjoyed every minute of it!!! i am sure i looked ridiculous but I dont care it does not happen that often!!! Sadly in a month from now it will still be summer/spring weather which kind of puts a damper for the holidays!!!!!
