Thanks Beachcomber4 and Parsec - Good to know.

Parsec - I'll PM you to get some more info on your company. Thanks in advance. $50/hr seems like a great price since it'd take 3-4 hrs for leave clean up given our yard is pretty small. That's already 100 bucks cheaper. Do they come with basic tools like blowers, rakes, etc. How many guys show up for the work and are they bagging up the leaves or having it hauled away in their truck?

The mulching is only spreading the mulch from the truck. No disposal, weeding or doing any plant work. I gathered our lawn guy bought 2 cu yard, had it filled directly into the back of his truck and came to our house.

We'd need about 20-25 bags if I were to buy from the store (around 70 bucks since HD always run $2.5 a bag sales). Unfortunately, I know that's too heavy for me to load with no help (and it seems my neighbors would rather just write a check than do the work for our shared yard)... so I don't mind paying a reasonable rate.

mmyk72: sent you a PM back. Estimates are always free so it doesn't hurt to have them come take a look.

To answer my own question, I found the site for The New England Landscape Design & History Association (NELDHA), they have a search feature to find landscape designers, several of whom seem to specialize in native plantings and sustainable gardening. I don't have any firsthand knowledge of any of these, but this looks like a good start!
