Nope.

Primary reason I live here above all others is simply because I was born about 5 miles or so from where I currently live. Everything I know is here, and despite what I may not like about the state...it's home. Even when there's 3 feet of snow falling all over...I still don't want to move.

My employment gets me out and around the country. I've been to some nice places, but I still like home. One day, when I get old enough to retire, the prospect of selling my super inflated, over priced house to buy somewhere at <50% of my sell price and enjoy life a bit before I start wearing diapers again may finally get me out of here.

Until then, I'm a M***hole

I moved away over 10 years ago. What I miss the most is something that can't really can't be measured, and that's the dry sense of humor. You don't really appreciate it until you have lived someplace else. Maybe that's why there are so many comedians from MA. I can guarantee BostonMike wrote this with a straight face.

It won't. Even Eastern Mass isn't that dense in the grand scheme, and it takes a critical mass of people to develop and maintain the culture and institutions needed to make a place desirable.

Once they find out how much it costs they won't.

LOL! I am already looking at potential retirement locations for when the kids are out of school! My family is all here as well and I grew up in the area, but I am really itching to move on. We've got another 12 years, but this is great news for when I am ready to cash out.

I'm surprised infrastructure wasn't weighed higher when scoring, I mean it affects just about every person EVERY day.

Most things in MA are fairly good--education, healthcare, public transit, cultural/sporting activities, shopping, etc. The major obstacle is the cost of housing, although the "rudeness" factor could be improved a little..

To be fair, though, if you posted that query in reference to any town that was 100 miles from the employment city, in ANY city's forum, you'd get similar responses.

And road and rail infrastructure is TERRIBLE virtually everywhere in the country. As bad as Boston's is, it's actually better than it is in most other places. I do agree, though, it needs to be a big priority, and throughout the country, this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
