Hello, I am interested in hearing from someone who drives the rush hour commute from the Andover/North Andover area towards Boston. I am specifically interested in how long on average the commute would be from the Andover/North Andover area to Winchester?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose it depends where you need to go in Winchester- the tightest spot is usu around the 93/95 exits. 30 minutes is a safe bet- but again it really depends when (during rush hour) you are going & where in Winchester..

I agree. Traffic becomes much more of an issue closer to Boston. Other than the 93/128 interchange I'd expect a fairly smooth ride. 30 mins sounds right

I gotta disagree a little with the other posters. I have driven Wilmington->Winchester during the morning rush hour many times and 30 is a resonable estimate but it's usually a liiittle bit more. You want to allow for a solid 45. I was going from the last exit in Wilmington, right near Andover, but depending on where you are in Andover it could be even longer. And was getting off at the Winchester Highlands exit or sometimes Montvale ave. in Woburn. Sometimes it's worse than others of course.

I drive every day from downtown Andover to downtown Winchester, via Route 93 South. I get on @ Dascomb Road, and get off @ Montvale Avenue (Woburn), then take Washington St. into Winchester proper. I leave Andover @ 8 every morning, and am in Winchester @ 835, every day, barring these three things:

1. Inclement weather. Be it rain or snow, people are slowing down considerably.
2. Accident or congestion @ Route 129 in Wilmington. Traffic always slows here, and then picks up again before slowing for good @ 93/95 interchange.
3. End of summer. After Labor Day, traffic increases exponentially for about a month while people get back into their normal routines.
