After months of searching across Newton, Needham, Westwood, Sharon, Mansfield, Dover and Medfield, we are leaning heavily to Medfield for our relocation to the area. One of us will be working in Westwood off University Ave. and the other will work from home, so the commute isn't a big issue. However, we are a Jewish family. We anticipate Medfield has a much smaller Jewish community than those other towns we've seen with perhaps the exception of Dover, but we don't want to be one of just a handful either. Does anyone have first-hand perspective/knowledge?

Several of my friends with families lived in Medfiield when kids were in school. All of them are Jewish, but secular. They loved it there.
On the other hand my (again) secular friends who’s kids are in Newton schools aren’t happy. They are upset about antiIsrael agenda.

My sister-in-law lives in Medfield. She's Jewish but her husband is not but they're raising their kids Jewish. One of my wife's oldest friends also lives in Medfield and they're both Jewish and raising their kids Jewish. I've never heard from either that they've felt uncomfortable living in town because of their religion. I have a number of non-Jewish friends/clients who live in Medfield as well and they all speak highly of the town. Obviously, there's no temple in Medfield. So, you'd need to go to another town for services.

The only complaint I ever hear is about commuting from Medfield. There's no train stop in town and the town is not situated along the highway. Pre-pandemic my BIL was working in Cambridge and they were always looking to move out of town because of his horrific commute.
