Btown I agree but with the field being what it is….she’s the favorite until Maura or Marty announces.

Even as a progressive from Boston I think she’d still have to beat Diehl.

The Harvard progressive thing will turn off too many people. Pittsfield is an even weaker base.

Honestly though the base is more like outside 128 not Pittsfield. While Acton is Democratic and Great Barrington and Greenfield is Democratic and Boston is Democratic in state races they have very different priorities.

Honestly it might be randomness but it is odd considering Boston/Cambridge dominance in elected US Senators and getting MA house Speakers

What if he isn't running again to help with a 2024 presidential campaign... Either himself or someone else

I wish that were the case,,,,,the first presidential candidate in my memory I would vote for rather than against the other person. But I don't think that's the case. Sadly.

Baker COULD win a Presidential general election, but he'd never get past the primaries.

Yeah. He may have had a hard time passing the gubernatorial primary in MA, imagine nationwide. He would be a single-digit candidate in the current environment.
The fact that Polito isn't even trying let me believe they were showed some grim data against Diehl.
I find kind of funny how the dems are always so concerned about electability of their candidates while the GOP doesn't appear to give a dam about it.

Baker is probably going to get a boatload of money in the private sector. Either the GOP moderates itself or MA isn't going to have a GOP governor for many years to come IMO.

Healey is running https://www.politico.com/newsletters...n-looms-495414

HEALEY STAFFS UP — State Attorney General Maura Healey has hired veteran Democratic strategist Mindy Myers as a general consultant for her as-yet-to-be-announced 2022 campaign.

Healey’s team confirmed Myers’ hiring when asked by POLITICO but declined to confirm if Healey is running for governor.

Maura is taking a number of steps to prepare for a run and hiring someone with Mindy’s experience and track record is a major step towards that,” a campaign source said.

Maura Healey Governor of Mass come 2023.
