What would be your opinion?

Spitballing I got…

Top 5 Cities
1. Cambridge
2. Somerville
3. Newton
4. Watertown
5. Waltham

Bottom 5 Cities
1. Marlborough
2. Lowell
3. Woburn
4. Framingham
5. Everett

Top 5 Towns
1. Arlington
2. Weston
3. Belmont
4. Winchester
5. Lexington

Bottom 5 Towns
1. Ashby
2. Shirley
3. Ashland
4. Ayer
5. Pepperell

I feel way less strongly about the bottoms than the tops. Especially the towns. I don’t really have anything against any of these places just that they’re too out of the way for me or have nothing going on in them that I particularly find interesting.

^As a Woburnite, I have to question how/why you would rank Woburn in the bottom 5? Its location for commutes into Cambridge / Somerville / Boston, modest housing prices (compared to adjacent neighbors), and low crime hardly justify that.

I thought Ashland was a nice place? I have friends who sold their house there and made a killing.

I didn't realize Middlesex County went so far west. Shirley, Ayer, Maynard, Framingham etc are a different world than Cambridge.

Ashland has some nice areas, but much of it seems a bit run down to me. It's maybe like a Hudson in that regard.

This topic depends on whether you're a snob or like living in the real world.

Newton and Natick bottom 5? Are these rankings based on where you would rather live or which place has the most nightlife or what.

didn't Newton just have a break in and triple shooting. It has a higher murder rate than Boston.

Indeed, one should rank cities and towns based on a single crime that could happen in any town.
